| 1. Make the wagon wheeles - cut your tooth picks in half, so you have 5 spokes for each wooden wheel. | |
| 2. Cut a 1 inch wide cylander out of your toilet paper tube (make two for each wooden wheel you are building) | |
| 3. Take a safety pin and poke 5 holes in your wheel tubes making a star design when you poke your tooth pick spoke through it. Have the spokes meet in the middle. | |
| 4. Cut out 4 small circles with your foam paper to make the wheel axels and glue them together. Apply pressure and let dry. | |
| 5. Like a real wagon wheel, you will want to make a border with a strip of wood. Cut out a strip of brown paper bag that serves as our wood. Add glue to the outer perimeter of the wheel. Apply the strip of paper bag or wood. This will hide the tooth | |
| 6. Now make the bar that runs between the wagon wheels and supports the under carriage of your miniature civil war cannon. Cut a 3 inch long piece of plastic straw. Wrap it with silver tissue paper. wrap the ends too. | |
| 7. Make the undercarriage -- Cut out a 3 X 5 inch piece of cardboard. Add glue and apply the brown paper bag. and trim it out. Fold one in in on each side. | |
| 8. Use a hole puncher to make two holes at the top on each flap. String your metal (plastic straw wrapped in silver tissue paper) through the undercarriage. | |
| 9. Add the side mounts that your cannon will sit inside. Cut out two 1 X 2 inch pieces of cardboard. Like the undercarriage glue the paper bag to it and trim. | |
| 10. Add glue to the side mount and the top side of the undercarriage and glue together. Cut out black circles from your foam paper to make bolts. Repeat on each side. | |
| 11. Attach your wheels to your cannon - Add glue to the end of the metal bar and to the middle of the wheels and apply pressure and glue together. | |
| 12. Make your cannon barrel - Cut a toilet paper tube in half. You may want to shave off some of it if it appears too long. Test it out on your partially constructed cannon. | |
| 13. Roll the smaller tube back together and tape into place. Wrap with gray tissue paper and fold the ends in so you can see through your cannon barrel. | |
| 14. Add details making muzzles around each tip of your cannon. | |
| 15. Attach your cannon to the side mounts. Glue into place or use metal fasteners if you want it to be movable. | |
| 16. Create a neck and knob to force mini cannon balls through the chamber of the cannon tube. Just cut out a circle from card board. Layer it with tissue paper. Crumple up a piece of tissue paper and glue on a knob. | |
| 17. Cut out a 4-5 inch long piece of plastic straw and wrap it with the tissue paper. Glue to the knob. Now you can force mini cannon balls through the barrel fo your cannon. | |
